Build a story

Here is a chance to create our first collaborative class story, that everyone can read. We know 4LM’s talent is awesome imagination and creativity…so let’s share this with a large audience! Try to finish your part so it leaves a good opening for the next student to build onto the story.

Here we go…..

“No…no…no!” screamed Charlie. There was perspiration dripping from his forehead and his pillow looked like a soggy tissue. The sunlight was pouring onto his bed sheets. It was so bright that he was having to part close his eyes. It had been a really rough night for sleeping, for the third night in a row. The clock radio was starting to kick in and he was listening to a song that made him even grumpier! He could also hear his mother yelling at him to move it so that he would not be late for school again! Charlie quickly put on his uniform, grabbed a piece of partially burnt toast and his school bag and slammed the door behind him.

As he turned around, he couldn’t believe what he saw…

Olympic Rowers

A lucky family in our classroom is friends with the coach of an Olympic rowing team heading over to the London Olympic Games.

Below are photos of the coach ( Chris O’Brien) and two rowers, Josh and Drew.

Drew has won GOLD medals at three Olympic Games- 1996, 2004 and 2008. He is excitedly approaching his fourth opportunity at this years Games.

We are also aware of a talented hockey player in Warrandyte who will also be heading over to London.

Our new topic we are investigating this term is Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.” We will be looking into the Olympic Games. It would be great if you could keep a lookout for newspaper/magazine articles as we approach closer to the event. If you find a wonderful website please copy and post it with a comment on this blog, for all of us to use.

If you have friends or family in England we would be thrilled to receive a comment about what is currently happening over there in the lead up to the Olympic Games. Start spreading the word!

Pack Your Bags

Our inquiry unit this Term is “Pack Your Bags.”

The following is the start of a Migration Sort. This is to help us build on our understanding for why people decide to leave their country and live in a new place.

Submit a push or pull reason on our blog and we will build it onto our Migration Sort. We would also love to hear from anyone who is happy to share why they migrated to Australia or another country.
